Myron S. Weinberg, Ph.D. is a seasoned executive who has been involved in the consulting and service business for more than 35 years. In 1983, Dr. Weinberg noticed a glaring gap in the world of business consulting – nowhere on the business landscape were consultancies built around the intersection of science and business. Dr. Weinberg formed one of the very first such consultancies and as a pioneer in the field eschewed the idea that adequate consulting solutions could be provided by scientists working inside public affairs and communications consultancies or research organizations. Dr. Weinberg was also instrumental in establishing our office in Brussels, where he resided for several years.

Prior to founding The Weinberg Group, Dr. Weinberg was Senior Vice President at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he directed biological, chemical, environmental, and regulatory activities. Dr. Weinberg has also held several positions in which he managed laboratories that conducted product development and testing services, as well as chemical, biochemical, and toxicological analyses. Major accomplishments for which Dr. Weinberg can be credited, include:

1) The conceptualization and development of the use for baking soda in the refrigerator;
2) A major study for the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, which led to the passage of a new law by the Congress of the United States;
3) The current revitalization of thalidomide;
4) Approval of the first total joint replacement; and
5) The development of a key clause in the Amsterdam Treaty of the European Union.

Dr. Weinberg's current interests include the use of mathematically-based techniques in defining and dealing with business and product risks, as best exemplified by two papers, which were presented at the Society for Risk Analysis and a European meeting in Stockholm during June 1997. Dr. Weinberg was educated at the following institutions: New York University, Fordham University and the University of Maryland, from which he received degrees in chemistry and pharmacy. In 1958, Dr. Weinberg received a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Maryland. Currently, Dr. Weinberg is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown Medical School in Washington, D.C. and in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. In this 50-year period, Dr. Weinberg has written two books, has been granted eight patents, and has authored or co-authored more than 80 scientific and other articles.
