Dr. Robert Roth is Medical Director at The Weinberg Group and his experience in basic biomedical research covers over 15 years at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of California, San Francisco. During these years, Dr. Roth established a basic research program in the fields of sepsis and blood substitutes. For over 10 years Dr. Roth was a faculty member in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, specializing in clinical hematology and transfusion medicine.

Prior to joining The Weinberg Group, Dr. Roth was Director of Medical Research at LifeScience Economics, a biomedical consulting company in Palo Alto, CA. His activities at LifeScience Economics included technology assessments (biotechnology and pharmaceutical), market assessments, medical reviews, data analysis and pipeline evaluation, investor due diligence of biotechnology companies, and business plan evaluations. As Director of Medical Research, Dr. Roth was positioned as an informed link between investors, principally venture capitalists, and early-stage biotechnology companies. Dr. Roth received his B.S. degree in biology from Bucknell University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Baylor College of Medicine. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston), and obtained speciality training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco.
